MIX: DMS MINI MIX WEEK #156 DJ BEDTIME

Mix #156 we bring you one of our #TeamDMS editors/contributors Dj Bedtime from Los Angeles. In addition to being responsible for bringing the housier cuts to DMS, Bedtime is also 1/2 of the production duo Whiskey Dicks whose tracks (including their hit “Buggin Out With a 40oz”) have reached top sales status on several digital sales sites including Traxsource and TrackItDown. Their next collaboration (“The Genie” with J Casablanca) is slated to be released in March on Dj Dan’s iconic InStereo label.

In regards to the mini mix he put together for DMS “I think everyone is taking the scene and music a little too seriously these days. I wanted to get back to the type of mixes I don’t hear much of anymore. Dj’s are acting as if playing open format is some type of special skill but in reality it was the only style of dj’ing there was when I was coming up. You were just expected to know how to open, close and rock a 5 hr night at the club without any questions or help from 3 other dj’s. I just wanted to put together something fun and that shows off how deep the crates at DMS can go. Whenever I log on, it’s like being in that record store all over again and finding those must have tracks.
