Pioneer will release a new mixer, the DJM-850, in March of this year. The DJM-850 will supersede the -800 with a few new tweaks and features. Chief among these is Beat Colour Effect, which builds in side-chaining functionality to its existing Colour Effects. Users will be able to connect directly to a laptop via its built-in four-stereo-channel sound card that features three sampling rates—96 kHz, 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz. The -850 will come with 13 different effects, most of which have been carried over from the -800, but will also include Reverb and Spiral Effect (a sort of tape echo) from the DJM-900nexus, and a brand new one called Up Echo. Other features include a three-band isolator and three-band EQ per each of its four channels, fully assignable MIDI control and availability in two colours—black and silver.
