Thunder In Paradise is back again for the 3rd year in a row. Fuseamania — “This mix is one of my favorite things to do. It really allows me as a DJ to play songs I like that don’t have to keep a dance floor packed.” If you haven’t heard or are not familiar with the mix both of the past years are available still on my SOUNDCLOUD.

Fuseamania — “In the past two years the mix has been done only by me. This year instead of it just being me, I have three other Dj’s doing guest spots on the mix. DJ Donk, from San Luis Obispo, California. Simo from Cincinnati, Ohio. And Drew Pierce from Los Angeles California. All three of these guys are great at what they do. Also if your a DMS user, you probably play serveral of their edits every time you DJ! Every week counting down to the release I’m going to post interview questions from each collaborating DJ.” This week we start out with DJ Donk, lets find out a little more about him after the jump.

Where are you from?

San Luis Obispo, CA

Favorite citys to DJ in, and why?

San Luis Obispo – I gotta show love to my hometown!

Santa Barbara – Always a good time. The people there are always open to hearing new music.

New York – I played 4 or 5 spots in NY, and all of them were drastically different. I liked that, because I enjoy being challenged.

Best city to eat in? What’s the spots and types of food?

That’s a tough one. Each city has their signature foods. NY is crazy. Shout out to CFLO for putting me onto 53rd & 6th. If you don’t know… check it.

Favorite DJ to listen to, and why?

Hard to pick just one, but i’d have to say… J. Espinosa, Kevin Scott, Scene, Spryte, Vice, AM, Drew Pierce… and of course Fuseamania!

Worst DJ experience ever?

Back in my first few years of DJ’ing, I was doing a college event and some drunk chick grabbed the tonearm on my turntable and tried to break it off because I didn’t play her request… that was pretty bad.

Best DJ experience ever?

I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of memorable gigs in my career so far. Performing with artists like Snoop Dogg, Big Sean, LMFAO and Ice Cube is always humbling.

If you were not DJ’ing what would you be doing?

That’s a question that I ask myself all the time. I’d probably have a 9-5 job, but I like to just be thankful for the position I am in, and I’m going to try and ride it out as long as I can!
