Paul Rosenberg stopped by DJ Whoo Kid’s show on Shade 45 as guest host of the special Hanukkah episode. During the episode, Rick Rubin called in and this led to Rosenberg interviewing him. The conversation started by going into Rubin’s early years of founding Def Jam Records. He talked about meeting both Russell Simmons and LL Cool J for the first time. Both of them were shocked to find out that the man they would be doing business with was white, as prior to that, there weren’t really white people involved with hip-hop.

Rubin was also asked about working with Eminem on The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Saying that he had always been a fan of Em, Rubin was able to work on the album because the timing worked out.
